Catie & Brad | July 28, 2012

30 Jul

The bride really wanted to include her grandparents in the processional, but was concerned about them walking on the beach.  Our solution, run sixty feet of walkway right off the access ramp so they didn’t have to walk in the sand.

It was a perfect summer day!  Not only did everyone make it down the aisle without a hitch, but moments before the ceremony began the wind picked-up, the clouds rolled in and the temperature dropped about 5 degrees.

Here Comes the Sun (The Beatles) was the perfect processional song for this fun loving bride who carried a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers and daisies.  The bride’s sister served as maid of honor, however in lieu of bridesmaids, Brenda had seven flower girls, all daughters of her closest friends.

I absolutely loved this bride’s sunset themed ceremony.  Her colors were perfect for a July wedding and the flowers were amazing. The aisle pieces actually doubled as centerpieces on the guest tables at the reception

and the arbor arrangements decorated the buffet.  Beautiful and practical!

Planning a destination wedding that requires international travel would stress out most brides but not Carla.  As an event planner in Raleigh this bride new just what to do.    She picked a beautiful beachfront hotel and had the minister’s wife deliver the Spanish interpretation on a second microphone for her Venezuelan guests.

The party continued with a sunset dinner on patio where the families had a chance to reconnect and dance the night away. This was a really fun group.  I would have loved to be a guest at this wedding!

Yesterday was a great day; I saw the sun rise and set and got to share in the excitement with two brides as they tied the knot at Fort Fisher.  Kristy had a intimate sunset ceremony with close family and received a standing ovation from the few remaining beachgoers as the couple shared their first kiss as husband and wife.

Susan and Eric’s 7am ceremony was the earliest we’ve done so far, but I have to say it was really beautiful.    They had the whole beach to themselves, perfect weather and a gorgeous sunrise.  I also loved how they incorporated their children in the sand ceremony.

Hottest day of the year to date!  Fortunately we had a nice breeze as well as plenty of parasols and bottled water to go around.  Favorite moments included the Jr. Bridesmaids with their mini parasols, Kim’s grand walk down the pier and Mike’s smile when he first saw his bride.
